Just installed a new marine stereo in my rig. Guy says, won't that scare the crabs? I've always crabbed with my stereo cranking and it doesn't seem to impact my catch. Any thoughts on the matter?

I’ve experimented with different music. Chester river crabs prefer country where west River crabs like classic rock.

Each one of us here today will at one time in our lives look upon a loved one who is in need and ask the same question: We are willing to help, Lord, but what, if anything, is needed? For it is true we can seldom help those closest to us. Either we don't know what part of ourselves to give or, more often than not, the part we have to give is not wanted. And so it is those we live with and should know who elude us. But we can still love them - we can love completely without complete understanding.

Very timely, installed a radio this year, was wondering the same thing. I’ve listened some and also gotten annoyed with it and turned it off. Can’t determine any difference in catch yet. Probably no difference.
Interested to hear what others think on the topic.

Always wondered that too. Curious if the sound vibrations in the hull affect anything or not. But then I say, "well the motor is pretty [dang] loud, and that never stops us from catching". So I turn it up.

I wonder if you play some older rock music from the 60s and 70s, would you catch older bigger fatter crabs? And if you play the new music that appeals to the younger generation, would you catch smaller lighter crabs?

You were correct Rick. I don't play the "eat it" spoof on mj's "beat it". It is weird that Al made millions being a clown. I just assumed he was singing about crab bait (chicken, clams, eel and turkey). So when you hear a comm blasting music it just may be my rig. I got the led marines this year and wired them to my nav lights so this year I'm glowing blue while the rest of the planet, except us crabbers are sleeping. Btw, on the topic, I catch better better blasting my favorite music which consists of a mix of classic rock, top 40, country, and easy listening. I'm not a heavy metal fan, no offense. I'm often forced to listen to it and get headaches. Crab on, we're all within moments of huge catches. HUGE!!!
