My brother and I took about 15 topless traps and chicken legs. Started about 1a.m.and ended around 7 ish. We caught almost a full bushel of nice heavy crabs. We also had the wives and children meet us at the landing so we could motor out to the jetty for some beach time. A very nice day. Lots of beers drank and a good time had by all. Happy 4th to you all

Thanks for the report and pictures! Looks like you had a great day!
1am to 7am makes for a very long day!
No crabbing alowed in Florida at night! Just shrimping.

i am originally from Maryland and you cannot crab at night there either, I have lived in SC now for 10 years and enjoy being able to crab at night when no one else is on the water

You can crab at night from bridges in Florida, its just not from a boat, since most crab trap thieves like to operate at night, and it makes it easy to nab anyone pulling pots at night.
Used to crab at night from the Bill Burton pier in Maryland before it was named that, caught a couple bushel each trip from 5 pm to 10 am.
Doesn't make sense to prevent crabbing at night from structures. Game wardens can check catch in morning.

Crabcruncher, How are you doing on your side? We have been in a crab drought since the double hurricanes!
