My son wanted to go fishing yesterday so we headed out for the water around 05:45 I always take a few traps with me anytime the boat is in the water first thing we did was motor over to a little cove to catch some bait. I parked the boat in a spot in 6 inches of water. after that we threw out 4 traps with chicken legs. I tossed the cast net about 6 times and had enough finger mullet and shrimp for a day of fishing, we checked the traps and the very first one had 4 big jimmies in it, the other 3 traps each had 2 a piece.  we pushed the boat back to deeper water and started fishing, it was very slow fishing. I caught one undersized flounder and he caught a big toad fish. we checked the traps again and had 6 more keepers . we fished some more and didn't catch anything for a while so we checked the traps again and had a few more keepers in them, I decided since it was just the 4 of us for supper we would just keep 18 of the nicest jimmies. I threw back lots of smalls and females too. we decided to get out of the boat and fish a really shallow spot that we saw lots of mullet jumping, he hooked into a 3-4 foot bonnet head but lost it about 15 feet from the shore, it was a good morning
