My boat is down so I will be using my kayak, I usually launch my boat from Hansey Creek Ramp & head right toward Maple Creek,
but I don't want to fight that strong current in a yak

1) If I go left from the ramp & head toward those creeks & tributaries is that a descent area for crabs & perch
&
2) If I drive over to Maple Ave, can I leave my truck parked on the side of the road while I launch & crab from Maple Pond
I don't want to get ticketed or towed

Thanks in advance for any help

You can go down Berrytown Rd and put in IN that area...A lot slower current...We used to do it ducking and crabbing there with a boat/motor...Also, put your yak in off the bridge area above 553, Haleyville Rd...We've launched boats with motors there too..Little tricky, but...

btw, I've never seen or heard of anyone being ticketed...The PSE&G area(going left from launch) USED to be great right after it was flooded, but, imo, the phragmites died and some 'other' problems hurt the area for wildlife...jmo

I'm with you though, on the current...I HATE a strong tide or current for crabbing...

They put a new guardrail on Haleysville road.It might make it harder to park off to the side.

The new rail runs past the spot where I used to see boats launched on the right side when you turn from rt 553..

I was looking from a Google Satellite Image & it looked like there was a small beach just off the road where Maple Pond is
I was in there twice about 3 years ago when my boat was running but I almost got caught with the out going tide, I know the tide runs strong
through the creeks, so when I saw the satellite pic of the beach (sand bar), I thought that would be good,
I guess I'll give it a shot some time next week
I'm more worried about my truck getting ticked or towed

Thanks for the replies
