Not me. I've never been to Rolph's.

I've crabbed the Chester a lot and have never gone nearly that far up the river.  Haven't been this year, but in years past have always done well and surely never skunked.

If you go again, go further south, much further if you can.

I wasn't making a negative comment about the Rolph's area, just that I have never been there.

I am hearing some reliable reports of decent catches down by the bridge.

Yeah I crab the Chester every year , Me and family have been for 40+ years. Usually crab in South East creek or near the mouth of the creek or by rolphs. This year first trip at end of July caught 6 crabs been back 4 more times through June, August and September and have not seen another crab. Always been able 2 pull a bushel of monsters out of there and be off the water around noon. This year was really strange. Going scouting for new spots in different rivers next year. Hope the make a rebound soon.

Was on the Chester Friday the 20th . 30 pull-ups with necks . Ran the traps 5 times and ended up with 3 crabs by noon . Only saw 1 old timer commercial crabber and he was ready to pull up and leave due to lack of crabs. Very disappointing.

We rented a house on the Chester River and the house and weather were perfect. The crabbing was not, the ramp at cliffs point is unusable except for a  small john boat. We were able to launch at Quaker neck landing a couple miles away. Did a couple sets of open top traps in all different depths, not one crab. Very disappointing but had nice weather and cruise up river. The dock had 2' water at most, very challenging. Locals said it was very bad year for
crabbers. Just got home yesterday and plan on dumping the boat into great bay where I know I can catch more
than one crab.

Okay so I haul my boat down to MD. for the BCA Wye river event  probably the forth time that I hauled my boat.
The first yr. not knowing anything we got half a bush. Next year, about a dozen on the Wye, we rented a house on
Tilghman Is. and got about the same. Last yr. Bob fishhook sent us out with his son Moe on his boat (very grateful)
and we got 2 crabs. Moe did his best ,just no crabs. Is the Wye dead? This year brought my boat spent 5hrs. on
the Wye, 4 crabs. Party was great ,food was great but WTF is up with the crabs. So it gets better,we rented a house
on Cliffs Point on the Chester River. We tried up/down river multiple tides 0 not one crab and yes we used bait. Next
year I will Crab before the party in Great Bay N.J. and actually bring crabs to be steamed or raced. I will never pay
Talbot county $45 for a one day ramp fee at the Wye that's rape. Love the BCA event But I could do better in 1hr.
than I have done in days in MD.
