Edisto report

Great week at Edisto. The two long mornings I put in yielded over a bushel each time (that’s an 82 quart pot). Tons of jimmies and BIG females. Went out for less than an hour twice with the four year old and got more than enough for big dinner both times. Got creative with the crab (froze the bushels for bringing back) but made some Vietnamese tamarind crab (cua rang me) and Singapore pepper crab and Singapore chili crab. Very delicious switch up. Was going to make some she crab soup but accidentally drank all the sherry picking meat. What can you do?

What are you using to crab with in Edisto I'm in Charleston and from Maryland originally and haven't had great success crabbing here. I have collapsible wire traps and also have tried trotling as well.
Any advise for crabbing in these large tidal swing waters would be appreciated.
