Starting off the 2019 season

I put out 300 pounds of corn out between 2 stands. I had 200 pounds of corn placed to the side in the woods to put out later. A week before the season starts I go to put out 100 more pounds. First pile I saved to the side has been messed with a little but no big deal. Put out 50lb more on 1 stand and another at the other stand. Unfortunately the deer got to all the corn on the other stand. So opening weekend me and my friend went hunting and I was going to put a little bit out with the remainder of the corn. But it was all eaten out of the bag like the other ones. No big deal as they should still come around. I have plenty of pics of deer and some possible shooters. My friend only saw 3 in the distance and I had 3 come up but did not have a shot. I tried to stop them but they just kept walking away. Around 8:30 Had 2 does come in
1 went to where the corn was. The other walked right below me board side. It gave me a better shot then the other 1. So I took the shot and the deer did not run 15 yards before it dropped. I could have shot both deer as the other one did not know what had happened. I let the other deer go hoping it would go to my friends stand but no luck. The bad thing is he did not see much but when we came around to there where 2 more deer right at my stand.

Each one of us here today will at one time in our lives look upon a loved one who is in need and ask the same question: We are willing to help, Lord, but what, if anything, is needed? For it is true we can seldom help those closest to us. Either we don't know what part of ourselves to give or, more often than not, the part we have to give is not wanted. And so it is those we live with and should know who elude us. But we can still love them - we can love completely without complete understanding.

I gave the deer to my friend. I will shoot another one Friday. He ended up smoking the ribs and said they where good. He does not get to go hunting much so he has not shot a deer in a while.

That’s good to give it away. I don’t like deer or goose meat and I always make sure I have someone lined up to take it. I don’t want to see anything die for nothing.

I will always find someone to take the deer or give it to feeding the hungry if I don't want it.
