I had motor problems early on this year and the boat was in the shop for 6 weeks.  You know outboards only break down in the summer and the repair shops are swamped.  Anyway I did my first trip of the year on 9/7/2019.  I have an LCC license so I built a longer trotline.  4 groups of 600 ft. each with 100 baits on each one.  I had 6 weeks of down time so I made this trotline for the future.  If I was just going out by myself I usually took 1200 ft. but occasionally took 1800 ft.  Two trips with 2400 ft. with my neighbor and my brother.  Caught my fair share of crabs, but I still threw back all the females even though I could legally keep them.  71 lbs. of picked meat was the total for this year.  Yes I gave away 8-10 bushels to family and friends, but my wife and I would rather pick them and make crab cakes, crab dip, imperial crab etc with the meat.  As usual a lot of this goes as a Christmas present to our immediate families and if a friend needs a lb. or two we will give them some.  All in all a very good year.  Caught what I needed and didn't get greedy as I could have caught a lot more crabs.  I just took enough baskets to keep what I needed and went home.  Many times I was home by 9:30-10:00 AM.  Hope you all had a good season and I look forward to next year.  By the way the motor runs great now after getting the carbs rebuilt for the 2'nd time.  I use ethanol free gas but after 8 years had to do the maintenance again!

P.S. When the snow would fly that is when the crab meat would come out of the freezer.

Great stash for winter.
Out of curiosity?  5-6 lbs per bushel?

Going to finish picking tonight, but know I will be at 22 lbs. in the freezer for winter.  Can't imagine having the amount you have.  Nice job!

Yes you can have a lb or two and if I had it to give you would indeed have that present from me.
That table full of crab meat represents a lot of work, and the very thought of giving some of it away so others can enjoy it is just great, I THINK.
