Hi was wondering how far north do blue crabs go. I live in Boston and would like to go out after work at some point. But the drive to get out Boston is a pain in the @$$. so hoping I can do some closer to Boston. Thank you ahead of time.

"blue crab that is increasing in waters off Nova Scotia. ... In recent years, they have rapidly expanded their range around Cape Breton, north to Prince Edward Island the Magdalen Islands of Quebec ..."

Things are definitely changing.. For the first time ever Virginia is opening a limited commercial White Shrimp fishery next year...

Shouldnít be too bad getting out of the city on the weekend. Itís probably about an hour drive from you to the cape plenty of crabs along the Southcoast of the cape and estuaries of buzzards bay. North of that you may still find some but probably much lower numbers and not worth the time. Iíve been finding spots using google earth and has worked out so far.
