Went out Friday morning with old, ripe chicken not sure what to expect. Tried a new creek. Waited until after sunrise and a nice commercial came out and let us know which directions he had his 8000 ft out. Appreciate this as like he said “figured I’d let you know so we all can go about our day trying to catch.” We sat and watched the other 3 commercials to see where I could lay out two 600’. Laid one on a hard bottom and one on a muddy bottom. Had 8 traps out. First time this year seeing an abundance of 2 inch crabs. All up and down the line. Saw some doublers. Ended with 1 basket of 1’s and half a basket of mixed. Best depth was 7-9 feet right off a grass line in the mud. Catch again significantly slowed after 8. Some lights mixed in that passed pinch test. Only got the one picture cooked in the cooler at friends house this time. Up to 12 1/4 bushels on the year. Might me making switch over to clams again after watching guys dip their [arse] off on them.
