Has anyone ever made Crab Cakes using the body
meat from Alaska Snow crab Body's ? We are going
to try to jazz it up with some spices and maybe a
little lemon pepper some drawn butter and a pinch
or two of my favorite Seafood seasoning OLD BAY .
I'll let you know how it turned out, if someone has
an idea please let me know.

     THANKS   BGFISHHOOK1

Had snow crab for dinner tonight. Used some garlic powder, Old Bay, Italian seasoning and melted butter to dip it in. Put it on corn on the cob also.

Well after my Bride made them Crab Cakes they were not too bad but I must confess they were not Blue crabs from the Chessy. IMHO I suppose I was waiting for them to taste something like the Maryland style that my Bride makes so well however they are a complete different animal and you can taste that right away. It was a little like the different  taste of a Filet Mignon and a hot dog if you can get that picture in your mind. Bottom line, will I have it again? Yes but a little more experimenting will be done.

You gave it a shot.  Definitely two different tastes. And definitely not the same when you're kind of expecting them to be like what you're used to. Although, the snow crab is good on it's own, it's still just not as good as the blue crab.

I have heard of people making "crab cakes" out of fish after poaching the fish.
Maybe thats a Krab Cake?

I like crab cakes and crab & shrimp cakes the best..... chef

Snow Crab and all saltwater crabs taste too bland and salty in crab cakes..  Blue Claws from brackish water taste the best.  I wonder if Ronnie (Capt. Ron) could make some crab and crawfish cakes?
