The Last Hurrah in Old Lyme 10/1/20

Yeah I know Never say Never but I always like to go out on a high note and with October weather being fickle I decided this is the last one for me this year
Anyway hit the water at ten and crabbed an hour of the incoming and picked up 8 good ones two of which were 7 inchers then waited when it died at high tide then picked up 7 more in the upper 5 inch range in 90 minutes of the outgoing before the wind got to bad and I decided to call it a day
Boy what a strange and crazy year it has been
but at least most of us got in some trips this year as frankly I needed some mask free time
Well everybody have a good
And lets hope next years crabbin season comes early
and with no masks required

I know, it is sad, but all good things must come to an end sometime.
I thought I was going to get one more trip to the bear mountain dock, but that's not happening. Have a nice winter 😊 we will all be back next season !!!

Good last trip. Thanks for the report. If we get some good weather next week I may give it one more try. Enjoy the long off season.

Not over yet got maybe 1 to more months yes you can catch crab in nov I’ve done it but has to be mild temps though. As far as Essex goes I don’t believe these crabs go back to tributaries . In speaking with Tim Visel he believe these crabs are a separate population. Who knows but it’s definitely not over

score a few to eat them 7 inchers are nice crabs ,
