Does anyone know the purpose of this rule?  I have zero issue following the rules, more curious what starting an hour later is supposed to accomplish.

 as a comm troliner it lets me get an extra hr of sleep, but as stated in another post to stop conflict with duck hunters and the reasoning that sunup warms the water as the temps drop and makes crabs more active.

I dont get the duck hunter explanation when it’s the same rule in the spring months too. I know it’s the explanation everyone gives tho

As a duck hunter I can understand that.  I can see the birds in the air at 30 minutes before sunrise but no much on the water.
