Started to crab before dawn at the levee with Chef Mark on a nice crisp fall day. Tide was incoming. Using chicken necks on hand lines. Landed a few nice jimmies in the darkness. Action picked up as the sun made an appearance. The next two hours action was non stop with the lines going out all over the place. We netted 3 dozen large crabs in no time. Even when the tide slowed to a stand still they continued to bite. Ended up with well over a bushel. Crab count was 76 with many 6 to 7.5 inchers. We divided the crabs and left at 11 am. Great day on the water....

It don't surprise me because whenever you two get together
the Crabs are in trouble. Glad the you guys could get out and
catch some and they look really good all steamed up and ready
to eat, nice going guys. Better hurry up because they are on
the move. Thanks for your report and nice picts too.

Coins that is a great catch and there is no better way than hand lining big jimmies. Don't look like you guys had much competition there, way to go.

Nice catch. Can I ask, did you make your catch from the land or did you wade in the water further out in the pond to set up the handlines? Iíve seen some guys wade out and seem to do pretty good. Thanks for the info.

We crab from the shore line with hand lines. Have seen people wade out near the pier and set lines from sticks in the water. Not many still do because of the flesh eating bacteria outbreak a couple years ago..

Great, thanks for the info. I might try to get in a crabbing session this weekend if not too late, and I didn't want to wade out in the water.
