I have a bait/crab pen I keep my crabs in off my dock for a few days building up enough to eat.  A few might die,   But overall has worked well.

My local AA is having a thanksgiving dinner and I am bribing crab.   To get this amount of crabs,   Will likely need to crab  a week+.

May question is how long can crabs keep their meat quality/stay alive in a pen?  I throw some fish in for them to eat,  but havenít had more than 50 at one time in it.

They will live forever if they are not crowded, have plenty to eat and good water quality.

Thanks!

What is crowded,  that is my main concern.  Ie should I buy another pen.

My wife sees it as me using AA to get more crab gear haha.

A dozen and a half to a crab pot size (2x2x2). Course that depends on the size of the crabs.  Less is better.  If you crowd them they will fight.  You can get by with more per pot for short periods. Like over night. They will spend most of their time looking for a way out.
