I decided to take full advantage of all nice weather and took off a few days to get in as much crabbing as possible.

11/06 - Wye - 1200' of necks, 24 Nets/Traps with clams, legal start till about 2:30 PM, 7'-21', finished with 1.5 bushels of some really nice crabs and saw a nice Fogbow!

11/08 - Wye/Miles - Solo trip, 24 Nets/Traps 9 with necks and 15 with clams (could only get a 1/2 gallon of clams), 8 AM start till about 3 PM, 6'-21', moved all over the place including the Miles after the Wye dried up, finished with a half basket around 3 PM and that put me over the 40 bushel mark for the year.

11/10 - Miles/Wye - Sunrise to Sunset, Started at the Miles at 7:15 AM with 1200' of clams and necks, 24 Nets/Traps with CN, 8'-24', moved a few times and only had 2 or 3 really good runs with 10-12 keepers, otherwise it was slow/steady, but did catch some nice sized crabs. We also chased the schools of working birds on & off throughout the day, we caught some blues mixed in with shorty stripers. I was really surprised to see the blues still around! We moved the Traps and Nets back to the Wye area that produced another dozen in 2 pulls before we had to end it with about a bushel between our 2 baskets. Those last 2 runs made me question starting in the Miles instead of the Wye.

Each day the crabs were there, nothing bigger than 7 inches, but just in random places for me and the water temps ended in the 57-59 degree range each day. I think its still on for at least another week or so if the mild weather continues. Pics to follow...

As he motors back to the ramp for the final time this year, the sun sets on another crabbing season.

40 bushels makes for a great year I would say... Crab on!

The owner said, "Yes we do."...
So the guy said, "Good,  because it's his birthday."
