Indian River, Clinton, Connecticut - November 15, 2020
Well, what started as a striped bass and bluefish trip to the Hammonasset State Park with some friends ended up at the blue crab dock behind the Clinton Town Hall. After arriving at the Hammonasset East Beach Pavilion at 9:15 Sunday to see the largest bunker (menhaden) school I have ever seen, one mile in length along the beach to Meigs Point. Needless to say, any large fish—if any were near them, were already well fed. So, Giancarlo Lomanto said he would give a try for a blue crab; we had our cut mackerel and plenty of fresh bunker and started off to Clinton- Indian River, just a few minutes away. No luck with catching a blue crab, we had some hookups, could have been blue crabs, but when pulled, released the bait. We did catch a couple of active green crabs; they hung on the bait bags with no concern. Water temperature was a cool 55 degrees. After 45 minutes, we gave up.
So, Everyone, have a safe winter and see you at the docks next spring!

Thank you BLUECHIP for your fine report it was very informative to
put it mildly. I always love to read reports that have some substance
to them and this one fits the bill. In closing have yourself a safe and
eventful winter season , stay healthy and fit until we hear from you again .
