Slug Replacement

So I am not sure if any of the fellow hunters are aware but Lightfield had discontinued making their slugs. so I am getting down to my last few boxes. what do you fella hunters suggest I switch too?

the broom i use is a 20 gauge h&r slug hunter.  i hate to retire it and just use the cva scout 450

yea it is crazy how they will stop making items that have proven time and time again to be reliable.

so true.  sometimes their bigger and better are terrible ideas

I think they just like changing things so we all have to switch up again. I did give in and buy a lead slead. Omg it makes sighting in so much easier........and cheaper.

Lead sleds and lined paper targets.  You can usually zero it in with a few shoots.  After that, misses are usually operator errors.

Kerry (DP) used to say every gun was made with so many misses built in from the factory. You never knew what order they would come out in. I must have terrible luck buying ones with more misses in then others

i was told by two different sporting good locations. Now i referring to the sabot slugs. I dont know if they stopped their home invasion ammo

ok the ones I use have the fins and are great deer stoppers. I have about 10 boxes due too the fact that I hunt mostly 2 countys , Carroll and Worcester and both are rifle  so. I was told the ones I use were so hard to get was because law enforcement used them and they always had their orders fill first..... thinking back they may be sabot slugs and that's the reason I bought a rifled ,ported ,scope mount barrell\ for my shotgun.

where in carrol? i hunt there a couple days a year.

I used to live off otterdale mill road up there. Lot of good deer in that area

I hunt off Turkey Foot road. Property isnt large but it is the top of a ridge where one side has a stream on the bottom and the other has some dense pines.  So they travel back and forth.

But def has some good genes in the area and even caught a pair of coyotes on camera.
