I had 5 blue crabs in a tank.Last fall we witnessed doubling. Then the female ate ALL the others. Today she is showing her spongy yolk sac. In 2 weeks we could 2 million babies. OMG We’ll need a bigger tank!
congratulations! unfortunately crab eggs hatch into zoea, which initially will be about 1.2mm.
So to give you perspective, clownfish eggs hatch to a fry of about 3.0 mm.
Adult brine shrimp are 15.0 mm
Basically what I'm saying is that blue crab fry are super tiny and i'm not sure how many would survive without proper food. They would almost certainly be damaged by any pumps or filters you have in the main tank.
