I had never known these (Chaceon quinquedens) existed or that they actually sell these in asian markets.

I had some at SeaStar in Lanham.  They use to get them in and sell them steamed like regular blue crabs.  They tasted good but were expensive.

Have you seen videos of the open markets in Asia/China?  That crab is nothing compared to half the stuff there.

the price i saw on a video was $3.50 per pound. But since each crab was about 2 pounds - that's like $20 for 2 crabs. 

Have you seen videos of the open markets in Asia/China?  That crab is nothing compared to half the stuff there. 

Mr. Ray - I have indeed - but i think i'm more shocked that there was another "crab" here in the atlantic. 

Here's a pic of a market in HK.  The front lower left has large mantis shrimp.   Not sure the species name.
