Hello, I want to buy a "set and forget" overnight crab pot to leave off a private dock.  Can anyone suggest a good brand?  Thanks

I dont use pots so I dont know but I see you are from the northeast. Just be aware that if you are planning on crabbing in MA they just banned the use of crab pots this year. I guess they were killing too many terrapins.

Pots are pretty much the same.  Same wire. Same shape and size.  Built pretty much the same way.  Here is a link if you want to try building one -> https://www.bluecrab.info/crabpot/index.html  If you click on the little crab at the bottom of any forum page, the info section of "Bluecrab Info" will open.  Wink

There are about as many crab pot makers as there are crab pots in the sea.  There are some designs that are better and some pots that catch better then others.  Stay away from bait boxes that don't go all the way to the middle partition and stay away from square wire funnels.  Try to find one made from Riverdale wire (I think that's still made in the USA).
