Back down in Somerset County for another Wed/Thurs. trip. Had to catch some minnows before I got out. So,  I  didn't make it out on the water in the kayak until about 8 am. By this time the tide was almost out. I have a nice little spot that has been very productive before. Tide was way too low and I believe the perch already vacated the premises. Paddled back to the ramp, did a hasty load back up and traveled a short distance to relaunch in another location.  Another short paddle to spot #2. Did catch some here along a drop-off, but only 4 were decent enough to keep. Paddled out to my final destination at 0930 and arrived by 10. Fished over another drop-off that went from about 5 ft to as far down as to about 20. Action was on from the start. I fished mainly using bottom rigged minnows and occasionally used a hook and bobber set up. I fished this spot til 1620. Total that I kept 130 white perch that ranged from my 8 inch minimum to 12 inches. About 30 of these were in the 12 range with the majority of them averaging about 10. I probably threw back 20 that I would keep on an average day that were at least 8, but I only had a small cooler and 2 chain stringers to hold the fish. The cooler fit 78 and I crammed 52 on the 16 hooks of the stringers. I quit because I ran out of minnows and had no other place to keep the fish. I will most likely pick out 60 of the largest to filet and vacuum seal and then give the rest to my Mother in law and to my wife's other two aunts. I've had other days bringing home totals of 97 and 103. Today just blew those previous highs out of the water. I  may try try to get more on the Thursday part of this trip.

Caught this fish on a bare hook. Guess the silver flash and perhaps the smell of a minnow made it strike. Caught six fish this way just dangling the hook under the bobber.

Each one of us here today will at one time in our lives look upon a loved one who is in need and ask the same question: We are willing to help, Lord, but what, if anything, is needed? For it is true we can seldom help those closest to us. Either we don't know what part of ourselves to give or, more often than not, the part we have to give is not wanted. And so it is those we live with and should know who elude us. But we can still love them - we can love completely without complete understanding.

Hello ADAM and thanks for your report & fine pictures .
My computer took a cra_ and I was not on for a little over a week,
but I am up and running again thanks to a great friend that is a
computer GEEK.  WOW that is a very nice bunch of white Perch you
got there buddy ! How do you clean them? do you Filet them or do
you do the scaling thing ? I filet everything and that includes CATFISH
and EEL'S . I sure do miss fishing and crabbing, but I knew that the day
would come when I would sit back and read about someone doing it .

Good luck to you my friend tight lines and full baskets to you .

Mr Bob,
I ended my 2 day fishing trip with a total of 186 that I brought home.  I picked out the 65 biggest left of the bunch and will filet them all Friday morning. Dinner tonight  is the biggest of the 186 that measured in at 13+. That one is being baked whole , wrapped in foil and stuffed with chopped carrots, celery, and onion with a soy, ginger and orange  sauce.

I'll say one thing for you Adam , you certainly know how to eat the
bounty's of the bay. Not saying you are a super fisherman that knows
how to do it is an understatement , it is a shame that we did not meet
when I was a bit younger we would have had a ball fishing & crabbing
together. I am proud of you son & brother !!! NICE PICTURES , WOW.
