2021, May 22   ~ ~ Opening Day of Flounder Season in Sea Isle NJ ~~

Psalm 93:4   More than the sounds of many waters,  Than the mighty breakers of the sea, The Lord on high is mighty.

The G3 Ship with no name launched into Whale Creek in Sea Isle NJ at 4:20am.   It was dark, very quiet, peaceful, pleasant and chilly.  Capt Williecrab was a guest deckhand aboard his neighbor’s vessel.  The ship’s Capt today was JTcrab.  First mate was his dad, Troopercrab.

The ship was navigated to a top secret spot.  The crew gave the Capt instructions on a different way of flounder fishing.  The bow anchor was dropped and soon the sun began to rise.

As soon as the Sun’s rays hit the water, Troopercrab the dad fought in a nice thick keeper.   Then the Capt brought in a fighter who was just over 19”.   JTcrab did a great job netting him and when the fish hit the deck, the Capt’s rig came untied.  Seems he did not do a very good job putting together his rig, but got the fish anyway.

JTcrab caught a fat throwback,   then the Capt brought in a very heavy flounder just over 17”.   He got thrown back.

JTcrab reeled in a beauty keeper flounder,  then a little later he caught a great eating size bluefish.

It was a fun day, great weather, and lots of laughs.  Each crew member caught a very nice flounder.  The fish biting came to a halt.   This was opening day and there were boats all over the place.  The crew only saw about 1 or 2 folks catch a fish.
