Got out this morning at 10 around the top of high tide. Crabbed the bridge between Chincoteague and Assateaug. Had 8 topless traps in 1-5 feet. Ended up with only 4 keepers. There were a lot of throwbacks and a lot so small they swam right out of the sides. I seemed to catch more where the top of my traps were sticking out of the water than the ones completely submerged. I felt that the 4 were lonely so I stopped and bought them some friends. They steamed happily together.

That bridge gets a lot of fishing pressure.  At least every time I drive over there are families crabbing from it.  You might try the fishing pier at Veterans Memorial Park.  The city pays for the fishing license from that pier.  You can fish/crab for free there.  Cool
