How many eel pots are you able to run with an LCC? How many are actually practical for trotlining?

The way I understood it was that if you have an LCC you're allowed 50 eel pots for personal use as trotline bait.

Found the answer. It's 50 EEL pots and 50 Crab pots.

The EEL pot portion is under Natural Resources Article, subsection 4-736, annotated code of Maryland.

How active are eels in 35-40 degree water? What's the best time, when are eels the most active?

The most profitable fishing time appears to be during the first two hours of darkness, especially in estuaries when this coincides with high water. Traps should not be left fishing for much more than two hours as captured eels may escape. This method is most successful in summer, yielding the largest catch about July.

Back in the mid 70's I used eel pots/traps. I used to get roe herring for bait. Eels would cram into the pots so full that some would be dead. I think that was early to mid spring and into summer.
