North Carolina Fisheries Association

The North Carolina Fisheries Association, Inc. is a non-profit trade association representing the interests of its member commercial fishing families, seafood dealers, and processors. Organized in 1952, the group has 2 major fund raisers: The annual Commercial Fishing Show in late February, and the annual "Fish Baron's Ball", held in November. Both events are held at the Riverfront Convention Center in New Bern.

But in less than 5 years, over half of the states processors have been forced to shut down and a coastal way of life is threatened.
